The Evansville Water and Sewer Utility Bill Relief Program is designed to help individuals and households lighten the cost of their utility bill.
Income-qualified customers who have active City water service and apply for the program will receive a $30 monthly credit and save up to $360 a year on their water bill. That credit is applied to the customer’s active account for up to 12 months.
Customers currently enrolled in the program who have reached their 12 months of credit may re-apply online or call Customer Service at 812-436-7846 to receive credit for up to another 12 months.
To be eligible for the Bill Relief Program, customers must reside within Evansville city limits, have an active City water service, and have a combined annual income of $50,000 or less.
Follow these steps to apply for the Bill Relief Program:
1. Fill out the application form. Provide your EWSU account number and household income.
2. EWSU will send an email to confirm if your application was received – and whether your request was approved or denied.
If approved, a $30 credit will be automatically applied to your active account each month for up to 12 months.
Funding for the Bill Relief Program is provided by the American Rescue Plan, which provides direct relief to Americans and the economy during and as a result of the COVID-19 pandemic. This program will leverage this funding and will be offered through the end of 2026 or until funding is depleted.
