Evansville’s Annual Fall Leaf Pickup Service Starts October 26
Evansville’s Annual Fall Leaf Pickup Service Starts October 26
EVANSVILLE, Ind. – Leaves are beginning to show signs of changing colors this fall. That means the annual Fall Leaf Collection Program – in partnership with Republic Services – will start soon. This year, EWSU City residential customers can get rid of unlimited bags of leaves from Monday, October 26, through Friday, December 11.
Here’s how it works
- Leaves must be contained in biodegradable plastic or paper bags or placed inside containers.
- Bags must be manageable in size, placed in organized piles curbside next to the residential trash cart.
- Bags and containers should be at the curbside pickup location before 6 a.m. on the normal trash collection day, not several days in advance.
Leaves not in biodegradable bags or that do not meet these requirements will not be picked up. Residents will be notified and asked to re-bag leaves properly for pick-up the following week. If residents feel they have complied with the requirements but their leaves were not picked up, they should call EWSU Customer Service at 812-436-7846 within two days after their regular trash collection day.
Who’s eligible for service
The unlimited leaf collection service is for Evansville City residents who pay for trash service on their monthly water bill. Apartment complexes, mobile home communities, businesses, commercial customers, and residential customers who live outside the Evansville city limits are not eligible.
