City of Evansville, Republic Services Provide Temporary Dumpsters for Residential Use

Due to the recent winter snowstorm, residential trash collection was temporarily paused for safety reasons. While regular service resumes today, collection may be delayed, and some alleys and streets may remain difficult for trucks to access as conditions improve.

The dumpsters are available at no cost to residential customers and are intended for household trash only. They will remain in place for one week, and Republic Services will maintain and empty them as needed during that time.

This service is being provided as a partnership between the Mayor’s Office and Republic Services, at no cost to the City or its residents.

The temporary dumpster locations are:

  • Old Roberts Stadium Parking Lot
  • Memorial Baptist Church
  • Republic Services (Fares Avenue)
  • Old Wal-Mart Parking Lot (West Side)
  • Young & Established Community Center — Back Lot
  • Central High School Stadium — Lower Parking Lot (First Avenue)

“This is a simple, practical step to help residents keep their neighborhoods clean while winter conditions limit what our trucks can safely do,” Mayor Terry said. “We appreciate Republic Services stepping up as a partner to make this available quickly and at no cost.”

Residents are asked to be mindful of posted guidance at each site and to use the dumpsters responsibly so they remain available to everyone throughout the week.

Additional updates on regular trash and recycling collection will be shared as conditions improve.
