Republic Services Update on Trash, Recycling and Heavy Trash Collections

EVANSVILLE, Ind. — Republic Services has resumed City residential trash and recycling collections after suspending service due to the winter storm.

Curbside and Alley Collections

Although alleys have not been plowed and conditions remain challenging, crews will attempt collections as long as they can perform the work safely. Curbside collections may also be affected by snow berms, limited access or carts not being placed at the curb. In all cases, crews will collect where conditions allow and safety is not compromised.

Recycling Collection Guidance

Recycling service returns to its regular schedule this week. Residents whose recycling was missed due to the winter storm may set out additional bagged recycling beside their carts on their regular collection day, starting the week of February 9. These items will be collected accordingly.

Heavy Trash Collections Update

Residents with outstanding heavy trash service requests will be contacted directly by Republic Services, and collections are expected to take place starting the week of February 2.

We appreciates the community’s patience as crews work through challenging winter conditions. Safety remains the top priority for residents, their property and collection teams.
