Republic Services Suspends Waste and Recycling Collections for Friday, Jan. 10

Republic Services has suspended all waste and recycling collections for Friday, ahead of another Winter Storm. Evansville is forecast to receive an additional 3-to-5 inches of snow starting tonight. Many side streets and alleys will continue to be too hazardous for Republic’s refuse vehicles to safely maneuver. In the interest of public safety, and the safety of Republic’s truck drivers, the company will not operate Friday.

Here’s what you need to know

  • Regularly scheduled waste and recycling collections for City residential customers will resume next week.
  • Extra waste and recyclable materials will be accepted. The materials must be contained in bags, and the bags must be placed next to the customer’s trash cart on their regularly scheduled collection day.
  • In the event the resident’s waste or recycle is not collected, the materials should be left at the curbside for collection on the next scheduled service day.

Christmas Tree Disposal Service

  • The annual Christmas Tree Disposal Service scheduled to end Friday, January 10, has been extended through Friday, January 17.
  • Christmas tree should be placed on the ground next to the trash carts for pick up on the customer’s regularly scheduled collection day.
  • After January 17, Republic Services will continue to accept Christmas trees placed inside the trash cart.
  • The Christmas Tree Removal Service is for EWSU City residential customers who pay for trash and recycling with their monthly water bill.
