Residential trash and recycling services, operated by Republic Services of Evansville, include spring yard waste pickup, fall leaves collection and Christmas tree pickup. This service is available to all customers who pay for trash service with their water bill. Apartment complexes, mobile home communities, and business and commercial customers are not eligible.

Spring yard waste is collected during the first four full weeks in April each year. Republic Services will pick up unlimited bags or containers of yard waste placed next to your trash cart. This includes yard waste like grass clippings, hedge and tree trimmings, garden plants and garden trimmings.
Please place your yard waste in plastic bags or containers or tied in bundles. You can also place yard waste inside the regular 96-gallon trash cart throughout the year.
Evansville’s annual fall leaf pickup lasts eight weeks in the fall, from November to mid-December. Please contain leaves in biodegradable plastic or paper leaf bags, or in your regular trash cart, and place them separately from normal weekly trash. Leaves may also be placed in containers that weigh 40 pounds or less. The bags or containers should be placed at the pickup location with your cart before 6 a.m. on the normal days of collection. These bags should only be placed at the pickup location on your normal day of trash collection.
Leaves not in biodegradable bags or in containers that do not meet these requirements will not be picked up. Residences will be notified to re-bag their leaves in biodegradable bags or properly place them in a container, and they will be picked up the following week.

Christmas trees are collected with customer’s regular trash for two weeks following Christmas. Simply place trees next to your trash cart.
The service is for City residents who pay for trash and recycling services with their monthly water and sewer bill. It is not available to apartment complexes, mobile home communities or retail and commercial businesses.
