The Evansville Water and Sewer Utility Bill Relief Program is designed to help individuals and households lighten the cost of their utility bill.
Income-qualified customers inside city limits with active city water service who apply for the program receive a $10 monthly credit to save on their bill. That credit offsets the 2022 water rate increase and is applied to their active account for 12 months. After one year, eligible customers may have the opportunity to reapply for the program.
Program funds are allocated to customers based on combined annual household income. Customers with a household income of $50,000 or less may qualify for assistance.
Customers must reside inside city limits and have active city water service to qualify.
The Bill Relief Program funding begins July 1, 2022. Customers may apply now to see if they qualify. It’s simple and easy.
If approved, a $10 credit will be automatically applied to your active account each month for one year.
Funding for the Bill Relief Program is provided by the American Rescue Plan, which provides direct relief to Americans and the economy during and as a result of the COVID-19 pandemic.
The Bill Relief Program is funded for up to two years or while funds last. EWSU is working toward sustaining it as a long-term program dedicated to offering assistance to individuals and households in greatest need.
