The Evansville Water and Sewer Utility (EWSU) Customer Support Programs provide a great opportunity for individuals and households to lighten the cost of their utility bill and reduce their monthly utility costs.
The new Leak Repair Program offers City residential water customers up to $1,000 in small repairs to their home water system. Or City residential customers can opt for the Bill Relief Program and save up to $360 per year on their water bill.
Funded by the American Rescue Plan, which provides direct relief to Americans and the economy during and as a result of the COVID-19 pandemic, these programs are made available on a first-come-first-serve basis to income-qualified customers while the funding is available.
The EWSU Leak Repair Program, in partnership with Memorial Community Development Corporation (MCDC), offers up to $1,000 for small repairs to eligible customers' home water systems and fixtures. To be eligible, customers must have a household income that qualifies as low-income on HUD (U.S Department of Housing and Urban Development) guidelines.
The EWSU Bill Relief Program offers a $30 monthly credit to eligible customers to help reduce utility costs. This credit is applied directly to their account for 12 months, with the option to reapply if funding remains available. To qualify, customers must reside within EWSU city limits, have active water service, and have a combined household income of $50,000 or less.
